October 12, 2024
10:00 am - 1:00 pm MST
WIFYR Does WriMo, when WIFYR authors write a complete novel in the month of November, is just around the corner. Writing a 50,000 word novel in a month is tough. That's nearly 2,000 words a day if you stick to a schedule. How can you make it easier? We'll tell you!
Join authors Carol Lynch Williams, Alec Sousa, and Scott Rhoades on October 12, 2024, for some great ideas about preparing to write your novel before November. This event is free and open to the public.
Classes include the following.
1. Structure:
Novels have structure and shape. Knowing what comes when, where, and why can help you figure out what could be (or should be?) happening in your novel before you start to write.
2. Discovering Your Story Through Outlining:
Writing is hard, and it can be easy to get lost in your story—having a map can help. Learn how outlining can unlock your creativity while keeping track of your pacing, plot, and character motivations.
3. Writing Every Day:
We all want to write more, but other priorities get in the way. This class provides tips for working writing time into your busy life so you can set and achieve your goals.
Writing and Illustrating for Young Readers is here to help you become a stronger, better writer. Our goal is to help you toward publication. Stories should always be the original work of the author.
Please note: This event is live and will not be available as a recording.
